Christmas Tree!

We made the trek out to a Christmas Tree farm the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It was just us this year - along with my sister Tiffiny, who had come up for Jackson's blessing. It wasn't too muddy, but it sure was cold! It's always fun to tromp around looking for the perfect tree. It reminds me of Decembers as a kid! Good memories. There's lot of pictures! Enjoy!
Adam and Dad both find the perfect tree! (Yes, it is the one with the really tall top.)
Adam started out helping dad cut the tree down.
But, soon gave up and let dad have a go. The saw that we were given was not very good. It took a lot of work to get that tree down!
Here is the victorious woodsman!
The family with our Christmas Tree.
We finally brought the tree inside and had a great time decorating Sunday night. (Dec. 6th) Adam loved putting the ornanaments on the tree, and he actually did a pretty good job of making sure they were spread out all over the tree.
Adding the star.
Jackson slept thru most of the decorating, but he did enjoy watching the lights twinkle when he woke up.
Here are the two boys in front of the tree.
We wish you all a Merry Christmas!

Gingerbread House

Adam and I were at Joann Fabrics this past week. I saw a gingerbread house kit, and decided that would be a much easier way to start this tradition, then to make the gingerbread myself. And the kit was on sale for only $6.99 - and I figure I would spend that much on candy alone if I bought it all separtely (do you like my rationalizations?) Anyway - I bought the kit, and on Saturday, Grandma and Grandpa Conrad stopped by so Adam and Grandpa did some building. They had a great time putting candy all over the house, and enjoyed sampling the candy to make sure it was ok. I think Adam did a pretty good job for his first Gingerbread house!
Here are the builders with the finished product. Not sure about the look on Adam's face. He's a pretty goofy kid!!

"Mom, can I have some...

HOT CHOCOLATE?" I think I've created a monster. He asks for it with every meal. Today he said it makes his whole body warm and cozy. It was so cute, he got hot chocolate with lunch!
Love that boy!!

Hot Chocolate!

Today was a beautiful day! The sun was shining and it was a balmy 45 degrees! Okay - so it wasn't so warm, but the sun was shining and that didn't happen much around here in the month of November. Adam and I decided to spend some time outside. He's been begging to play some baseball and you of course need a pitcher if you're going to bat. So we bundled everyone up and played in the backyard. Jackson was the cheering section and Adam did some pretty good baseball hitting. We only lasted about 40 minutes before our hands and faces started getting pretty darn cold. We decided to go inside and enjoy some hot chocolate and graham crackers. This was Adam's first hot chocolate experience. He had lots of fun dipping the graham crackers in, and when they were all gone, he looked at me and said "do I drink it now?" It was very cute! As you can see by the chocolate face, he enjoyed it very much!

Great Grandma!

My Grandma Couch travelled up from Idaho Falls to spend Thanksgiving with us and to attend Jackson's blessing. It was very special to have her here! Thanks for coming Great Grandma!!

Blessing Day

Jackson Carl Wallis was blessed today. It was a special day. Scott did a wonderful job giving him his name and blessing. He was blessed with many wonderful things, including an understanding of his name and that he would have similar attributes to his Great Grandfathers, who he is named after. I am so greatful for the Priesthood, and for a husband who honors and uses that Priesthood. I am also greatful for this special sprit that Heavenly Father has entrusted to us here on the earth. He is definately a special little boy.

Here are my two precious boys! Love them both so much!!

Thanks to Nate and Shae for loaning us the blessing outfit. It fit perfectly!

Thanksgiving

I have so many things to be thankful for! Number one on that list is my family! I feel so blessed to have two healthy and strong boys, a loving husband, wonderful parents and parents-in-law, and amazing siblings! We had a great Thanksgiving. We spent the day at Grandma and Grandpa Conrad's house where the boys played some Turkey Bowl football, and watched the Dallas Cowboys tromp on the Oakland Raiders. There was wonderful food and great company. We were lucky again this year to have my Grandma Couch come spend the holiday with us, as well as my sister, Tiffiny. It was fun to have more family than normal to spend the day with.

Here is the annual Dallas Cowboy family photo.
Jackson spent some time talking to Great Grandma after dinner. He is really starting to find his voice and it's so fun to sit and talk to him!Grandma, Adam and Great Grandma played a rousing game of Go Fish while we waited for the football game to end so we could eat.
While we cleaned up from dinner, Adam watched "The Little Mermaid". I think he likes Ariel!
Thanksgiving is such a nice relaxing holiday, and it always signifies (for me at least) the start to the best holiday season. I am thankful to be starting this season where we remember and celebrate the birth of our Savior. It truly is the best time of the year! Happy Thanksgiving!!
